Changelog

New features, improvements and fixes, newest first. Bloom checks for updates automatically.

1.38.10

Inspector width and easier project browsing

The inspector keeps the width you chose when moving between workspaces and conversations.

Browse every project from a searchable picker, including hidden projects and projects without workspaces. Reveal a project in the sidebar, start a workspace or open its settings. The sidebar can also show hidden and empty projects together.

1.38.9

Sending now keeps your place in long transcripts

Improvements

  • Scrolling through long transcripts stays responsive while you move through older turns.
  • Sending a message while reading earlier messages keeps your transcript position.
  • Jump to newest now takes you straight to the latest message.
1.38.8

Terminal tabs ready for typing

Opening a terminal tab now moves keyboard focus to its shell. You can start typing without first clicking inside the terminal.

1.38.7

Standalone conversations and flexible pull requests

Conversations can now live outside a repository, with chats, terminals and browsers arranged in tabs and split panes. Archive and restore them from the sidebar; they appear alongside workspaces in All and Archived.

Create a pull request by asking an agent or by letting Bloom commit, push and open it through GitHub CLI. When the pull request is ready, choose an agent or GitHub CLI to merge it.

Project headings, sidebar selection and transitions are clearer. This release also fixes transcript rendering, reduces list redraws while scrolling and makes menu shortcuts act on the highlighted workspace.

1.38.6

Ask Bloom permissions and archived workspace restore

Ask Bloom now opens with your default permission mode, including Plan mode. A permission choice you make during a conversation lasts until the next launch.

When you ask an agent to restore an archived workspace, Bloom can rebuild its worktree from a surviving branch. It reports the new path if the old one is occupied.

The copy button on a prompt bubble now appears when you hover over it.

1.38.5

More room for agent workspaces

  • Raise the default limit for workspaces started by one agent to 20, and change it in General settings.
  • Reveal local files linked in the transcript in Finder.
  • Fix a crash when the welcome window resizes after Get started.
1.38.4

Better file browsing and transcript controls

  • Choose a default branch for new workspaces in each project's settings.
  • Browse ignored files and empty folders in All files.
  • Open changed images from the inspector and view images at full size.
  • Copy sent prompts and right-click a link to copy its address.
1.38.3

GPT-6.1 Sol in the Codex model picker

  • Choose GPT-6.1 Sol in Bloom even when your installed Codex version does not list it yet.
  • Astra stays first, and Bloom uses Codex model settings when they become available.
1.38.2

Smoother conversations and browser scrolling

  • Long conversations open sooner and scroll more smoothly.
  • The browser toolbar reflects the page's colours as you scroll.
  • Archive confirmation shows Checking during brief safety checks without flashing Archive anyway.
1.38.1

Claude Sonnet 5.5 in Bloom

Choose Claude Sonnet 5.5 in Bloom even when the installed Claude Code version still lists Sonnet 5.

1.38.0

Clearer conversations and faster navigation

  • Agent progress updates stay visible while action groups remain compact. Open the completed-work line to see the actions above it in time order.
  • Returning to long conversations avoids rescanning completed turns, and text-only dictation pastes do less editor work.
  • Press Cmd+R to reload the active browser tab.
  • The archive confirmation stays in place while its safety check runs.
  • Requested screenshots remain visible in the conversation, and inline images open in a full-window lightbox.
1.37.4

Bug fixes

Bug fixes.

1.37.3

Codex permissions and browser address fixes

  • Codex MCP permission replies now reach the server correctly.
  • Browser addresses are easier to select and edit.
1.37.1

Smoother long conversations and easier History copying

Long conversations load with fewer jumps when scrolling through older messages.

Copy a commit's full hash from its History row. Browser empty states now fill their pane correctly.

1.37.0

Long chats open faster

  • Long conversations open faster, and text no longer overlaps neighbouring messages while scrolling.
  • Bloom remembers whether the sidebar was open or hidden when you reopen the app.
  • Reviewing file changes avoids unnecessary scroll position updates.
1.36.0

Plans formatted in the chat, continuing after a usage limit, and smoother resizing

Chat

  • A proposed plan now appears formatted in the chat, and a preset can start in Plan mode.
  • When a chat hits its usage limit, Bloom offers to continue it once the limit resets.
  • The "Worked for" line now sits above a turn's work, and a turn's subagents are shown without having to ask.
  • A turn that was stopped without the agent's closing line no longer blocks the next message.
  • The note a turn left after getting through retries is gone once the turn succeeds.

Composer and transcript

  • A message that wraps no longer spills out of its bubble.
  • The composer no longer flickers at a scroll bar's wrap boundary, and keeps a dead key's marked text.
  • Typing in long chats is faster: the composer and the transcript redraw far less.
  • The setup log keeps its height while setup runs, and "Stop setup" looks and sits like a button.

Window

  • Dragging the chat and inspector dividers is smoother, and panes keep their content visible while resizing.
  • The sidebar groups workspaces by project by default, and shows every workspace state's mark again.
  • Opus 5.5 is named in the model picker.
1.35.0

Instant workspace switching, a settings sidebar, and turns that fold when you ask them to

  • Switching between workspaces is instant. The two most recently visited workspaces keep their laid-out transcript, terminal and browser, so going back and forth no longer rebuilds the pane.
  • Project settings pick their pane from a sidebar, the same way the app's own Settings window does.
  • The running-work plate leads with what is running. A single background task shows its own name and a live clock; several keep the count.
  • Collapsing a turn works again. Clicking the "Worked for" rule now closes a turn that had opened itself, and collapsing a segment hides the rows inside it.
  • Fewer "worked for" rules in the transcript. A run of background tasks reporting in no longer draws one between every notice.
1.33.3

Better image drops, workspace setup and keyboard navigation

New

  • Data-only image drags, including CleanShot floating thumbnails, can be dropped straight into the composer.
  • Choose the reasoning effort for the first chat when creating a workspace.
  • Opening a project folder through macOS now registers or focuses it in Bloom.

Improved

  • New Workspace opens as a sheet in the main window.
  • Command-L selects the browser address, and Command-Option-Left and Command-Option-Right cycle tabs.
  • Running tools show a useful activity label and elapsed time.
  • Press R with selected thread text to quote it into the composer.
  • Sidebar alignment, hover controls, file path pills and long menu bar titles are cleaner.
  • Archiving recognises unchanged disposable setup files while protecting work that could be lost.
1.32.0

Cross-workspace chat management lands in Bloom

New

  • Agents can create, rename and close top-level chats inside an existing workspace, with explicit model and composer settings for handover.
  • Closed chats can be reopened from Recently Closed or with Edit > Undo.

Improved

  • Check notifications survive a relaunch and can report a pull request that finished while Bloom was closed.
  • Missing built-in quick prompts can be restored from Settings.
  • The Codex context-window picker warns that session-only approvals will be asked again.
1.31.0

A message from another workspace is cut to five lines, and a running MCP call is named the way the finished one is

Improved

  • A message from another workspace is cut to five lines. A brief written for another agent has no length anybody agreed to, and drawn whole it filled the pane and pushed the answer off the bottom. It is cut now, with a fade at the last line and a "Show all" that appears only when something was actually cut. The sending chat makes the same cut at three lines.

Removed

  • "Show full prompt" is gone. It showed the same words again inside Bloom's own fence and answering instructions, which is our boilerplate rather than the sender's writing. A subagent's brief keeps its envelope, where the wrapping is the orchestrator's own words.

Fixed

  • A running MCP call is named the way the finished one is. The live tail printed the wire name, so a call read as mcp__bloom-workspace-bridge__workspace_say while it ran and "Bloom: workspace say" the moment it finished.
1.30.0

Terminal chats reach Bloom’s tools, screenshots paste into them, and compacting draws as its own thing

Added

  • Terminal chats reach Bloom. Claude and Codex started in a terminal pane now get Bloom's workspace tools, so an agent there can see and change the workspace it is sitting in. Chats kept alive across a restart of Bloom reconnect on their own.
  • Paste a screenshot into a terminal chat. Cmd+V and Edit > Paste hand the CLI a picture off the clipboard, whether it was copied straight off the screen or saved by CleanShot. Text still pastes as text.

Improved

  • Compacting looks like compacting. While an agent summarises its own context, which takes a minute or two, the row no longer shows the blue working dot as if an answer were coming. When it finishes, a rule across the pane says what was dropped and how long it took.
  • Adding a project opens New Workspace. Every project added in the Start Project window now opens the create window on it, not just one Bloom made itself. Choosing a folder from the create window's own empty state selects the project it just added.
1.29.0

Open workspaces in your default browser, screenshots in prompt submissions, and ignorable setup failures

Added

  • Open in Default Browser. A workspace's right-click menu opens its address in the system browser, and the browser bar has a button for the page on screen. The existing "Open in External Browser" items take the same name.
  • Screenshots in Submit a Prompt. Attach, paste or drop pictures, just like in Send Feedback.
  • Ignore a failed setup. A failed setup row now has an Ignore button that keeps the log and takes the workspace out of Needs You.
  • Drop a directory into the composer to insert its full path at the drop position.

Improved

  • The archive popup opens straight away and checks the workspace's Git safety while it is shown. Archive anyway stays available during the check.
  • Submit a Prompt and Send Feedback remember your name and email address across launches.

Fixed

  • A feedback report with screenshots attached no longer drops the sender's email address.
1.28.0

Start a workspace in a recent project from the New menu

New

  • Start a workspace in a recent project from the New menu. Both + buttons in the sidebar now list up to five projects you recently started a workspace in, with their icons. Pick one and the create window opens with that project already chosen.

Smaller things

  • Agents can send up to 30 messages to another workspace in ten minutes, up from six, so agents working together no longer hit the limit mid task.
1.27.0

Discard a file or a single hunk straight from the diff

New

  • Discard changes from the diff. Every file in the review has a Discard button next to Viewed, and every hunk has one on its @@ band. Discarding a hunk leaves the rest of the file alone, works for staged and unstaged changes, and refuses with an explanation if the file has changed since the diff was drawn. Both are disabled while an agent is working.

Improvements

  • Confirmations open next to the button that asked. Discarding a file or a hunk, removing a project, closing an Ask conversation and throwing away unsaved edits now ask in a small popover instead of a dialog over the whole window.
  • The workspace hover card is a popover. It points at the row it describes, waits a little longer before opening in the sidebar, and no longer needs a click to close before you can select a workspace.
  • Waiting on you has its own colour. An agent waiting for an answer is marked in magenta, so it no longer blends in with failing checks and merge conflicts.

Smaller things

  • The + in the toolbar now sits between Search and the inspector toggle.
  • Discarding an untracked file says plainly that it goes to the Trash, the only place it can be recovered from.
  • Pressing Copy twice in a row restarts the "Copied" label instead of letting the first press clear it.
1.26.0

A new workspace stays under Working while it starts

Fixes

  • A new workspace stays under Working while it starts. In the sidebar grouped by status, a freshly created workspace no longer drops to Idle between its worktree being made and its setup script or agent starting.

Smaller things

  • The Projects heading no longer has its own start project button. The one in the status bar does the same thing in both sidebar groupings.
1.25.0

Preview Markdown and HTML files as rendered documents

Preview Markdown and HTML

  • Markdown and HTML files open with a Preview, Source and Edit picker. Preview renders the document with its relative images, stylesheets and scripts from the worktree, and draws Mermaid diagrams.
  • The preview follows the file, reloading when it changes on disk or as you edit, and keeps your reading position.

Smaller things

  • Update checks are no longer skipped for a day when they land while agents are running. Bloom tries again once the agents finish.
  • The review pane's empty states are centred, such as the message for a file that is no longer in the worktree.
1.24.0

Ask Bloom becomes a panel, with model presets, Fast mode and a tidier sidebar

Ask Bloom is a panel

Ask Bloom has moved out of the sidebar list and opens as a card over the window, from the button in the sidebar's status bar or with Command-J. Its conversations are listed down the side of the card.

  • Conversations name themselves after the first thing you ask, rather than all being called "Ask Bloom".
  • You can close the last conversation. Ask Bloom then shows what it can do, a few prompts to send in one click, and a composer ready to type into. The list of conversations only appears once there is one to show.
  • There is no longer a full window view of Ask Bloom.

Model presets and Fast mode

  • Save model presets (model, reasoning, output style and permissions) and switch between them from the composer in one click. Manage them, and choose the default for new sessions, under Model Presets in Settings.
  • Custom… opens the full settings panel, which can save what it is set to as a preset. With no presets yet, the button opens that panel straight away.
  • Fast mode is a bolt beside the model button, for Claude Code and for Codex models that have a fast tier.

Sidebar

  • Home, New and Ask Bloom are buttons in the sidebar's status bar, and a New button now sits beside the sidebar toggle at the top.
  • A workspace you open from Ready to read stays there until you move on, then goes to Idle.
  • Unread workspaces with a pull request are listed under Ready to read, and rows move between sections as their status changes.
  • Mark as Unread is the first item in a workspace's right click menu, and a row's name fades between weights when it changes. The row's hover menu is gone, and Project Settings… is in its right click menu instead.
  • Hiding or adding a project animates its rows in and out.
  • The status view lines up with the list's edge, without the empty gap that was kept for project chevrons.
  • A selected workspace no longer flashes blue when the sidebar takes keyboard focus.

Creating workspaces

  • Recent projects come first in the New Workspace project picker, and Command-N opens on the one you last started in.
  • The default branch is offered on the Existing branch tab.
  • Agents can start workspaces in other projects, and can list your projects to find them.

Smaller things

  • The welcome window no longer jumps between steps, every step says Continue, and it asks which agent new sessions should use when more than one is ready.
  • Settings sections such as Advanced configuration open from anywhere on their row.
  • The no projects message appears once, on Home.
1.23.0

The sidebar can be read as a queue: what needs you, what is ready to read, and what is still working

  • The sidebar can be read as a queue. Workspaces are now grouped by status by default: Needs you, Ready to read, Working and Idle. A finished turn nobody has read ranks above an agent that is still running. The project view is one switch away under Group by, in the sidebar's filter menu or the View menu.
  • Rows stay where you are looking. The workspace you have selected keeps its section until you select something else, so reading a turn or answering a question does not move it out from under the pointer. Idle puts what you touched last on top, and rows travel between sections rather than jumping.
  • Quieter rows. A mark is drawn only when something is happening or something is wanted, the diff stat is grey, and a turn's subagents fold into a count you can press to open.
  • Projects with no workspaces are not listed. Every project, empty and hidden ones included, is under All projects in the filter menu, and Home has a plus for New project and New workspace.
  • Ticking a file as viewed folds it in the review, and taking the tick off opens it again. A file you opened by hand stays open.
  • Setup scripts get your login shell's PATH, so Run Setup finds the same binaries a Bloom terminal does.
  • Open in is on the workspace's right-click menu.
1.22.0

Agents can act in a browser pane, and new workspaces start from the fetched remote base

  • Agents can act in a browser pane. New bridge tools let an agent snapshot a page, click, fill in fields, press keys, wait for something to appear, and read the console and network requests. Nothing runs arbitrary script, and none of the new tools is approved without asking.
  • New workspaces start from the remote base. A workspace is now cut from the freshly fetched origin/<base> rather than a local branch that may be out of date. The fetch starts as soon as the create window knows the base, so creating does not wait on the network, and the New branch tab now also lists branches that only exist on the remote.
  • Switch tabs with Option+Tab. Option+Tab moves to the next workspace tab and Shift+Option+Tab to the previous one, even while the composer or a terminal has focus.
  • Agent-started workspaces can be tidied up. A workspace started by another agent can now archive or rename itself, and the agent that started it can archive or rename it too. Starting further workspaces and destructive tools still ask.
  • Fixed: a browser opened in a background tab had no page to read, so reading text or taking a screenshot failed until someone clicked the tab.
  • Fixed: a session launched inside a workspace could be handed the owner's bridge tools through the global Claude configuration. It is now refused.
1.21.0

Workspaces tell each other when they are done, read each other's chats and diffs, and message in orange bubbles

Agents in different workspaces can now work together more closely.

  • Know when another workspace is done. workspace_start and workspace_say take notify_when_done. Bloom then tells the calling chat once the other workspace's agent finishes, fails, is stopped, gets stuck waiting on a permission or a question, or is archived, including what it last said.
  • Read another workspace. chat_list and chat_read can now read chats in another workspace, and the new workspace_diff tool shows what a workspace has changed, file by file, with its diff.
  • No more message ping-pong. Bloom refuses a workspace message that repeats one just sent to the same workspace, or goes over six messages to it in ten minutes.
  • Messages between workspaces look like messages. They are drawn as the same bubble as your own turns, in orange, with "From" or "To" and the workspace name above, which you can click to go there. The full prompt appears when you hover a message, and a long message is cut to three lines in the chat that sent it.
  • Fixed: a message from another workspace no longer appears a second time as your own blue bubble under the turn it started.
1.20.0

Agents that message each other across workspaces, Markdown previews, and a steadier review

Added

  • Agents can message the agent in another workspace with the new workspace_say bridge tool. A message arrives with your authority and says which workspace, project and chat it came from, and the other agent can answer the same way. "Fix this, then have the release workspace ship it and tell me the version" now works without copying text between chats.
  • A message from another workspace appears on the right of the chat it was sent to, in its own colour, under the name of the workspace it came from. The chat that sent it shows whether it is queued, delivered or cancelled. While it is queued you can cancel it from either chat, and the agent that sent it is told.
  • Markdown files have a Preview button in the file viewer and in the review. <> takes you back to the source.

Fixed

  • The all-files review no longer jumps back and forth between files while an agent is editing.
  • Long lines wrap in the single file diff.
  • A diff block you jumped to in the review is drawn straight away instead of staying blank.
1.19.1

The CLI chat button in the composer no longer looks switched on when it is off

Fixed

  • The button that opens a chat in the CLI, at the end of the composer's footer, no longer has a grey background while it is off, so it no longer looks switched on. It now looks like the attach button next to it and only fills in when it is on.
1.19.0

120 new seas to chart, files that open on their own, and pull requests that show with any token

Added

  • New workspaces now draw their sea from the whole catalogue, including seas you have already sailed, so filling the chart takes much longer. 120 new bays, straits, sounds and channels have been added, and existing databases pick them up automatically.

Changed

  • Clicking a file in the inspector opens that file on its own instead of scrolling to it among all the changed files. Moving through files with the keyboard keeps whichever view you are in.
  • A tab that has been split into panes no longer shows a tab strip with only one tab in it.
  • A command running in the background, such as a dev server, no longer makes a finished workspace look busy, and archiving no longer offers to interrupt the agent because of it. The footer still lists running commands, and archiving tells you which ones it stopped.

Fixed

  • A pull request now shows up when your GitHub token cannot read its checks, which happens with fine-grained personal access tokens. Before, Bloom said "No pull request yet". The checks are marked as unavailable rather than passing.
  • Restoring your place in a diff no longer scrolls sideways into the middle of long lines.
  • Turn snapshots are now captured while a merge still has conflicts, and a snapshot that fails shows a toast.
  • The written answer on an answered question card is drawn as normal text instead of in faded placeholder grey.
1.18.0

Claude Code and Codex CLI chats, Safari-style tabs, and subagents that stay tidy

  • Claude Code and Codex in the CLI, inside Bloom. A chat can now run the real claude or codex CLI in a terminal tab, with its activity, busy state and session resume tracked like any other chat. Choose it for every new chat under Settings, Models, "Open new chats in", or per workspace with the new toggle beside the prompt controls in the create sheet.
  • Tabs that behave like Safari's. The tab strip has a native look, disappears when a workspace has a single tab and comes back when you open a second, and the + for new chats, terminals and browsers now lives in the title bar. Dragging a tab moves the tab itself, with its neighbours sliding aside as you go, and you can drop it onto any pane, browser panes included, to split. A faint rule separates inactive tabs and hides beside the selected or hovered one.
  • Clearer busy signal. A working chat's tab now carries a blue sweep, like Safari's loading bar, and with no tab strip a short sweep runs under the title bar. With Reduce Motion on, a static blue tint takes its place.
  • Subagents stay tidy. Each subagent is a single row in the chat with a live action count, even when several run at once, so the main agent's work groups properly around them. Click the row to open the subagent's full run, which is now drawn like a chat: your brief as a message, actions grouped, thinking in its own box and the result as an answer.
  • Side conversations open from their button. The side conversation card now hangs off the ↪ button like a popover, with a glass background and a lighter header, and stays open while you work in the main chat.
  • Your own apps in Open in. Add any application to the Open in menus, and GitKraken is now listed.
  • Livelier sidebar. Diff stats and counts roll to their new values, status glyphs crossfade, and sidebar icons use the accent colour.
  • The chat now reflows live while you resize the window, instead of fading.
  • The first message in a new chat no longer starts under the transcript's top fade.
  • The Thinking box no longer ends in empty space when an agent's reasoning ends in blank lines.
  • The sidebar selection stays grey when you switch back to Bloom, instead of turning blue.
  • The notice above the composer has its own background, so transcript text no longer shows through it.
  • Fixed a problem when closing the inspector by resizing it, and the inspector now shows more clearly which section is active.
1.17.1

A faster launch, and Archive Workspace moves to Shift-Command-Backspace

  • Faster to a usable window. On launch, your projects, workspaces and their agents now reach the sidebar in a single update instead of arriving in separate passes, so the window is filled in about 100ms sooner.
  • Archive Workspace is now ⇧⌘⌫. Plain ⌘⌫ is left to text fields, where it deletes to the start of the line, so it can no longer archive a workspace while you are typing.
  • Quick prompts that open a new chat start with the default agent and model from your settings, instead of briefly starting Claude with Opus.
  • The merge button in the inspector stays green when Bloom's window is not in front, instead of turning into a grey capsule.
1.17.0

File icon packs, and Codex skills in the slash menu

  • File icon packs. Settings > Appearance has a picker for the icons in the All files tree: vscode-icons, Material Icon Theme, Symbols or Bloom's own. vscode-icons is the new default. A pack downloads the first time you pick it and then works offline.
  • Codex and shared skills in the / menu. Codex skills, including those from enabled Codex plugins, now appear alongside Claude commands. A skill in the workspace takes priority over your own copy of the same name, and a custom CODEX_HOME is respected.
  • The turn preview no longer overlaps the minimap, and its styling is softer.
  • Tabs that fit in the tab strip no longer fade out at its edges.
1.16.1

/clear resets the chat in place, and changed files stand out in All files

  • /clear now starts a fresh conversation in the current chat tab instead of opening a new one. The tab keeps its place, split layout and composer settings, and the previous conversation is archived.
  • Changed files are easier to find in All files: each one, and every folder that contains one, gets a subtle highlight, even when the folder is collapsed.
  • The Codex fast mode switch in the composer now matches the speed Codex actually uses, and your choice is remembered per conversation.
  • The selected workspace in the sidebar is easier to see.
  • Link buttons such as Show output are drawn in Bloom's colours instead of the system blue.
  • The "Changes During This Turn" window and its button under each answer are gone. File chips under an answer preview the file on hover.
  • A workspace whose checkout is not on a branch (for example during a rebase) no longer shows a "GitHub could not refresh" error.
1.16.0

Run scripts in the tab strip, shared quick prompts, and blue messages again

  • Run scripts from .bloom/settings.toml now appear in the tab strip's + menu. Picking one that is already running brings its tab forward, and a "Stopped after…" strip offers Run Again when the command ends.
  • Add autostart = true to a run script to start it when a workspace opens. Bloom asks once per project, and again if a pull changes the command.
  • Projects can share quick prompts with [[quick_prompts]], shown under a Project heading in the quick prompt panel. They never send on their own.
  • A settings entry Bloom cannot read is skipped and named in a notice, instead of silently ignored.
  • Your own messages are drawn in Bloom's blue again, and the selected workspace in the sidebar uses a quieter grey highlight, like Finder.
  • The menu bar's waiting and finished counts can be switched off separately.
  • Answered agent questions stay visible in the chat, and Add Project explains why git refused a folder.
  • Inserting a file chip no longer makes the composer grow.
1.15.2

One Ghostty setting for every theme, and steadier tool calls

  • "Use my Ghostty configuration" is now one setting for every theme, so switching themes no longer drops your Ghostty colours and fonts.
  • Ghostty colours are laid over the selected terminal scheme, keeping the theme's panel when your config only sets a few palette colours.
  • Quick tool calls fold straight into their actions group instead of flashing as their own row first.
  • A permission question now arrives with its running tool call, so the buttons no longer shift.
  • The top of the transcript fades gently where text scrolls under the tab strip.
1.15.1

A clearable GitHub refresh error and steadier streaming

  • Fixed a "GitHub could not refresh" banner that appeared on every branch without a pull request and could not be cleared. The banner can now also be dismissed.
  • Streaming answers no longer jump half a line as each new line arrives.
  • The Changes scope selector is now a single compact menu.
  • The empty "No changes" review state is centred.
  • Build and Plan switching now lives only in the model options popover.
1.15.0

Themes, a commit history tab and a smarter chat

Themes

Two theme presets, Bloom and Charcoal Glass, each with its own glass, colours and typography. The editor and terminal colour schemes can be changed independently of the theme and reset to its defaults. Existing appearance preferences carry over.

Commit history

A new History tab in the inspector lists the branch's commits, and selecting one shows that commit's own patch. Changes now groups files into staged, unstaged and untracked.

Chat

  • Up and Down in an empty composer recall prompts already sent in the chat.
  • Add to Chat (Cmd+L) quotes a selection from an agent's answer into your reply.
  • Long conversations get a minimap in the right margin, one mark per prompt, with a preview on hover.
  • Selection and copying work across an answer's paragraphs, lists, code and tables, and Cmd+A selects the whole answer.
  • Sending no longer makes the transcript collapse or jump.

Fixes

  • Mark ready for review runs gh pr ready directly and shows any GitHub error in the inspector.
  • List numbers and bullets no longer sit a line above their text when the item contains a link.
  • The chat no longer shifts by a point when typing into or clearing the composer.
1.14.0

Safer Git, saved plans and recoverable conversations

Plan and build with Codex

Codex now has separate Plan/Build and permission controls. Save and refine plans, implement them in the current chat, or hand them to a new chat in the same workspace. Queued prompts keep the mode selected when they were sent.

Review changes and recover a conversation

Saved turn snapshots show historical file changes, including edits made through the terminal. File chips open the recorded patch instead of the current file. Codex conversations can rewind to a recorded turn, with optional file restoration and recovery if the operation is interrupted.

Safer Git operations

  • Single-file reverts and diffs handle filenames such as [id].tsx literally, preserving neighbouring changes.
  • Git refreshes catch changes that arrive during an update and watch shared worktree metadata.
  • Fork remotes, worktree paths and submodule setup are handled more reliably.
  • Pull request refreshes share requests and retain the last successful result when GitHub is unavailable.

Smoother agent workflows

  • Interrupted sends remain recoverable without automatically replaying uncertain work.
  • Codex Stop also interrupts active child agents.
  • Terminal selections can be attached directly to a draft, with their captured text and source.
  • Long conversations use bounded presentation buffers while preserving transcript events.
  • Optional idle process release is available in Settings > Agents. It defaults to Never.
1.13.0

Your Claude Code and Codex limits in the menu bar, and Keep Awake that survives a closed lid

Your agent limits, in the menu bar

The menu bar item now carries how much of your Claude Code and Codex allowances are left, and the menu behind it lists every window each provider reports: the session and weekly limits, the model-scoped weeklies such as Fable, Codex's Spark limits, its credits and its rate limit resets. Each row has a meter coloured by pace rather than by level, so a week being spent too quickly turns amber or red before it runs out, and says when it will.

Up to two figures per provider ride in the menu bar itself, as numbers or as small bars, and the plan each account is on sits beside its name. Bloom asks both CLIs once a minute, and neither ask costs a turn or a penny.

Keep Awake

Bloom can hold the Mac open while you are away: for a number of minutes or hours, or until you stop it. A running session can be extended, and the menu says what is holding the Mac awake and for how long. The switch that kept the Mac awake while agents run is still there, beside it.

New: Keep Awake can also hold the Mac through a closed lid, which no ordinary app can do. It uses a small helper that macOS asks you to approve once, and sleep is restored when the session ends, when Bloom quits, and even if Bloom crashes. On a laptop, the welcome window offers to set this up.

A cup appears next to the menu bar item whenever something is keeping the Mac awake.

Settings, Menu Bar

A new pane decides what the menu bar item shows: which providers, in which order (drag them), and which metrics from each, up to two. Figures can be numbers or bars, counts can read as what is left or what has gone, and the item can be reduced to Bloom's mark or switched off entirely. A live preview shows the result as you change it.

Grok

Grok joins Claude Code and Codex as a backend you can run workspaces with.

Also in this release

  • Draft pull requests can be marked ready for review from Bloom.
  • Model discovery and selection is now shared across the agent backends.
  • An update asked for immediately installs immediately again.
1.12.1

Say what is still running when a turn ends

  • When a turn ends while a background command or subagent is still running, the footer under the last turn now says what is still going, for example "A background command is still running: Wait for the PR's Test run to finish." Before, the turn read "Completed" while the tab's activity mark stayed on with nothing to explain it.
1.12.0

Code navigation in diffs, and a way to stop a hung setup script

  • Code navigation now works in diffs. Cmd-click jumps to the destination when its line is in the diff and opens a file tab otherwise, and the definition and usage menus and Cmd-Shift-click work there too. The file tree reveals the active file and remembers expanded folders.
  • A running setup script can be stopped from its row in the transcript, so a hung seeder or install no longer holds the workspace. Run setup is offered again afterwards.
  • When a background command or agent finishes between turns and Claude carries on by itself, the turn now opens with a row saying what finished, its exit code and a link to its output.
  • Picking "New branch from X" when X could be opened directly now offers "Open X instead", or "Go to" the workspace that already holds it.
  • Home's project menu is sorted alphabetically, with hidden projects in their own section at the end.
  • Hiding and unhiding projects in the sidebar animates, and the Show hidden projects toggle works again, including for projects with no workspaces.
  • The Start from list in the create window shows about eleven branches instead of one and a half, and no longer resizes while you type.
  • Bloom's own instruction files show in the transcript as "Pull request instructions", "Conflict instructions" or "Project instructions", like the merge instructions.
  • Fixed a freeze when reviewing a minified file: a diff line is drawn up to 2,000 characters, with a note saying how much was left out.
  • Fixed Claude Code extra usage amounts showing 100 times too high (for example £1,856.00 instead of £18.56).
  • Fixed a crash in repository settings when removing a run script.
  • Merge and archive confirmation buttons now match the colour of the button that opened them.
  • The browser's Comment button no longer looks disabled when it can be clicked.
  • Fixed horizontal scrolling in file previews with long lines.
1.11.0

Smarter code navigation and Laravel view definitions

  • Cmd-click navigation in the code viewer is smarter: clicking a declaration lists its usages, a single result opens directly, Cmd-Shift-click opens the target in a new tab, and there are back and forward shortcuts. Result menus show project-relative paths and list ignored files and Laravel Idea helpers last.
  • Laravel projects get view definitions: Laravel LSP now runs alongside Intelephense, so Cmd-clicking a view name opens its Blade file. Results refresh when files change.
  • Source links in chat messages show a file type icon, and Space while hovering (or the context menu) opens the file in Quick Look. Copying a message leaves the icons out.
  • The chat composer still grows automatically up to ten lines, and you can now drag the divider above it to make it taller or shorter. Double-click the divider to go back to automatic sizing.
1.10.1

A clearer pull request button

The pull request number and arrow now appear together in one compact button, without a divider, making it clearer that both open the same pull request on GitHub.

1.10.0

Chat access, pane splitting and better code navigation

  • Chats can now discover and read other chats in the same workspace through MCP, including long conversations, without switching tabs.
  • Asking an agent to “add a pane” or “split pane in this chat” now opens a new chat to the right of the conversation receiving the request. Clearer tool descriptions distinguish panes from separate tabs, and changing focus cannot redirect the split.
  • Improved the source editor with remembered file positions, Back and Forward navigation, file and line links, workspace and diff search, symbol navigation, and Go to Definition through installed language servers.
  • Added editing commands, better highlighting for mixed-language files, and a way to add selected code to a chat draft. Unsaved edits are preserved when files change on disk, with a comparison before resolving conflicts.
1.9.1

More reliable diff navigation and Unicode rendering

  • Fixed clicking a file in the inspector landing on the wrong diff as other diffs load or the layout changes. The selected file now stays in place until you scroll or interact with the diff.
  • Fixed a crash when viewing diffs containing differently encoded versions of the same Unicode text, such as accented characters.
1.9.0

Side conversations and browser screenshot comments

  • Ask a side question with /btw while the main agent keeps working. The floating conversation starts with context from your main chat, supports follow-ups, and can be kept as a regular chat tab.
  • Select an area in the built-in browser, add a comment, and send the screenshot feedback to your agent without leaving the page. Comments can be edited or removed, and attachment previews show the screenshot and its comment.
  • Assistant messages now have subtle dividers to make conversations easier to scan.
  • Fixed copying Codex answers, including answers in saved conversations.
  • Fixed project reordering when other projects are hidden.
1.8.1

Pull request actions during agent turns and clearer workspace menus

  • Request pull request creation, pushes, merges and conflict fixes while an agent is working. Bloom delivers these through the agent's existing message queue or mid-turn delivery.
  • Find projects more easily in the New Workspace menu, with visible projects first, hidden projects in a separate group, and each group sorted alphabetically.
  • See newly saved run scripts immediately in Workspace > Run, without switching workspaces. Changes to shared home settings also refresh affected projects.
  • Remove the duplicate Merge command from the Workspace menu. Merging remains available in the pull request panel.
1.8.0

Preview websites at phone, tablet and desktop sizes

Bloom's browser now has responsive previews. Choose a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop preset, enter custom dimensions, rotate the viewport, or drag its edges. Save custom sizes for the tab and switch between Fit and 100% to inspect larger layouts inside the pane.

The size controls stay in a compact popover. Opening it leaves a full-size page unchanged, and a dedicated toolbar button restores the full browser pane in one click. The page stays loaded while you resize, and preview settings survive reloads and tab switches.

1.7.0

Quick file search, fresh chats and easier agent sign-in

  • Press Cmd+P to search files in the current workspace and open them in Bloom.
  • Type /close to archive the current chat and replace it with a fresh one using the same model settings, keeping its tab position and split pane.
  • Ask Bloom now uses Bloom's own tools by default when you ask it to create or manage projects and workspaces.
  • Sign in to agents from an embedded terminal in Bloom, with retry, cancellation and a command you can copy. Claude sign-in now uses the correct authentication command.
1.6.0

Continuous reviews and more flexible project setup

Bloom 1.6.0 adds continuous file review, more flexible project setup, and persistent Ask Bloom conversation tabs.

  • Review every changed file in one view. All files is now the first and default review mode, with files ordered exactly like the expanded tree and root files after folders.
  • Keep filenames visible while scrolling, with the inspector selection following the file at the top. Collapse individual files and jump to a file from the tree.
  • Wrap long lines consistently in unified and side-by-side diffs. Reduce layout work during scrolling while preserving text selection, keyboard comments, and correct comment targets after refreshes.
  • Simplify review controls: use the All files / Selected file picker, put Edit file first in the file menu, and remove the duplicate review button and Share the diff action.
  • Complete project names and paths automatically, choose project search folders, and set the working directory used by Ask Bloom.
  • Keep multiple Ask Bloom conversations in tabs. Switching tabs keeps agents running; closing a tab archives that conversation.
  • Configure where a project's browser opens, including Herd or Valet addresses and URLs supplied by setup scripts.
  • Open an existing branch directly from the New Workspace screen.
  • Let a workspace's own agent request that workspace's archive after its turn finishes, subject to the existing safety checks.
  • Preserve input focus across background windows and let newer clicks override queued terminal focus requests.
  • Keep workspace tools connected when agent runners are reused.
  • Close the update window correctly when installation is postponed.
1.5.2

Archive workspaces with missing Git metadata

Fix workspace archiving when Git no longer recognizes the workspace folder.

  • Move the workspace to Archived while keeping its folder, branch and Git metadata.
  • Skip the archive script for unrecognized folders and show where the files remain.
  • Restore these workspaces into a new folder without disturbing the retained files or another active checkout.
1.5.1

Welcome screen crash fix

  • Fix a crash when clicking “See what Bloom needs” on the welcome screen, while keeping the window sized correctly between setup screens.
  • Restore the configured implementation permissions after approving a plan, including when resuming a session. Review the plan and its permissions together before choosing to implement, keep planning, or give feedback.
1.5.0

Reviewed files, Markdown notes and faster navigation

Bloom 1.5.0 adds reviewed-file tracking, Markdown notes and faster workspace navigation.

  • Mark changed files as Viewed with the file-header toggle or Option+V. Review progress is remembered per workspace, and a file becomes unviewed when it changes again.
  • Drag across gutter lines to comment on a range, and choose which chat receives your review comments.
  • Write notes with live Markdown styling, formatting buttons, source mode and native undo. The notes layout and caret alignment are improved.
  • Workspace clicks highlight the sidebar row before loading the conversation. Returning to long chats reuses conversation indexes, including after background agent updates.
  • Returning to Changes reuses prepared diffs. Switching between workspaces viewing the same filename no longer carries over the previous diff's state.
  • Restore and polish the compact tab design, with system typography and stable busy indicators.
  • Make diff and editor controls clearer, add immediate hover hints, move Share to the overflow menu, and improve PhpStorm detection.
  • Keep the pull-request button stable during refresh and allow an empty Changes tab to open normally.
  • Show chat tables with smaller text and wrapping cells, and give the first Ask Bloom message more space above it.
  • Navigate Home immediately when archiving a workspace. Add an owner MCP archive tool that keeps the branch and history and refuses unsafe work.
  • Open the correct conversation when switching an existing chat to a model from another backend, while keeping the original conversation.
  • Fix welcome-window positioning, inactive-button contrast and a crash in text-zoom availability updates.
  • Add native crash reporting through Flare, with a Send crash reports switch in General settings. Preference changes take effect after restarting.
1.4.1

Readable archive confirmations

Bloom 1.4.1 fixes the appearance of archive confirmations.

  • Confirmation popovers now show readable text and Cancel buttons when opened from a selected sidebar row, in both light and dark mode.
  • Archive buttons use the standard system accent colour.
1.4.0

A lighter Mac interface and smoother navigation

Bloom 1.4.0 brings a lighter Mac interface, a more compact chat editor, and smoother navigation.

  • The chat editor now floats on a glass surface, stays centred at the conversation width, and grows from one line to ten before scrolling internally.
  • File drops from Finder and CleanShot work across the editor, including screenshot data and promised files. Attachment close buttons appear smoothly on hover.
  • Previous-message and Jump to newest shortcuts use matching glass capsules, clearer icons, and hand cursors. Jump to newest fades and moves subtly when it appears or disappears.
  • Workspace additions and removals, including archiving and restoring, animate in the sidebar. Motion respects Reduce Motion.
  • Workspace tabs have more breathing room beside the sidebar and activity indicators.
  • Settings are organised into focused panes with sidebar navigation, and remember the selected pane.
  • Merge and archive confirmations use native popovers anchored to the controls that opened them, including sidebar archive actions.
  • The workflow prompt list has clearer grouping and selection styling.
  • Completed actions fold around commands that are still running, keeping active work visible.
  • Fixed the pull-request header sometimes remaining visible at startup while the inspector was closed, and removed a duplicate branch tooltip.
1.3.0

Optional workspace setup and more reliable conversations

Workspace setup, on your terms

  • A new Run setup script checkbox lets you skip setup when creating a workspace. It is enabled by default and applies only to that workspace. Project settings stay unchanged, and you can still run setup manually later.
  • Actions such as fixing merge conflicts, creating a pull request and pushing changes take the chat to the message they send, including when the chat pane was not visible.

More reliable conversations

  • Image and video filenames now have a compact circular menu with Open and Download. Hover over an image, file or skill and press Space for native Quick Look, including attachments, inline file chips and inspector files.

  • Overlapping send requests no longer claim the same queued message twice. Failed sends stay queued for an explicit retry.

  • Drafts are preserved when a message cannot be queued, without overwriting newer text in the composer.

  • Starting a fresh Ask Bloom conversation saves the replacement, settings and draft together. If saving fails, the old conversation stays open.

  • Stop is honoured while Codex is connecting or starting a turn. Late responses from a stopped turn no longer end a newer turn or clear its approval details.

Safety and code quality

  • Existing bridge connections respect token rotation and workspace-session retirement.
  • Setup-file copying and local-page loading use symlink-aware path checks. Copy preview and execution share the same matching logic.
  • Database handling preserves embedded-NUL text and empty blobs, avoids unsafe numeric conversions, and refuses unsupported schema versions before repair.
  • Packaged apps include Bloom and dependency licence notices. Contributor documentation explains the architecture, isolated dev builds and verified release process.

Includes all changes from Bloom 1.2.0, including the final message-bubble tail adjustment.

1.2.0

Codex question cards, clearer subagents and calmer chat controls

Better Codex conversations

  • Codex subagents appear in Bloom's shared activity list with their own live output panes.
  • Child output and completion events stay separate from the parent chat. The activity line stays visible while subagents are still working, and output refresh resumes when a child starts another turn.
  • Codex can present interactive question cards with choices, free-text answers and secret fields. Questions closed by the agent no longer linger.
  • Child approvals retain the correct command or file details, and refusal explanations go back to the child that asked.

A fresh chat and calmer controls

  • Use /clear to start a fresh chat with your chosen model settings. Previous conversations remain available.
  • Sent-message text is optically centred inside its bubble, including single-line messages and custom font settings.
  • Outgoing and queued messages share a small curved tail, inspired by macOS Messages.
  • The title bar matches inactive tabs, while the selected tab remains distinct.
  • Empty-state actions such as Try again use compact, neutral native buttons instead of filled controls resembling chat bubbles.

Help and welcome

  • Bloom Help opens the current support page instead of the retired documentation.
  • Welcome to Bloom restarts the welcome wizard from the beginning.

Older saved transcripts are preserved as recorded; previously mixed parent and child output is not rewritten.

1.1.3

Smoother chat, safer archiving and readable merge controls

Improvements

  • Sent messages arrive with a subtle lift and fade. New AI message blocks fade in once, without replaying the effect for every streaming update. Reduce Motion is respected.
  • Streaming chat text does less repeated Markdown parsing, reducing main-thread rendering work in long responses.
  • Daily usage reports include coarse setup metrics, with clearer documentation and the existing opt-out in Settings.

Fixes

  • Refused workspace archives keep the current chat and draft in place, avoiding a transient Home view teardown associated with the reported macOS 27 archive crash. Worktree safety checks remain in place.
  • The Merge button keeps readable text and icons in the title bar.
  • New diff comments focus the empty editor immediately.
  • Cmd+Delete stays with the focused terminal instead of opening Archive Workspace.
  • Settings sign-in uses the detected agent executable, quotes its arguments correctly and reports Terminal handoff errors.
  • Branch names refresh after an external rename without overwriting unrelated workspace changes.

SwiftTerm remains the terminal renderer.

1.1.2

Reliable chat resizing, clearer lists and native window styling

Improvements

  • Numbered and bulleted lists have clearer item spacing and paragraph-style line heights, while checklists stay compact.
  • New chat defaults use larger text with balanced line spacing, without changing your saved font preferences.
  • The sidebar and title bar use native macOS backgrounds, while chat content stays on a plain reading surface.
  • Turn separators are quieter, with a little more space between the end of a conversation and the message editor.

Fixes

  • Fixed chat content disappearing, developing gaps or becoming unreachable when resizing the message editor or window.
  • Resizing keeps your reading position, including when you are at the end of a conversation.
  • Binary-file notices and other diff empty states are centred in the available pane.
1.1.1

Faster conversation loading and model menu fixes

Improvements

  • Opening a long conversation no longer freezes Bloom for minutes.
  • The conversation loading indicator is centred above the composer.

Fixes

  • Newer Codex models sort above the models they replace.

Known issues

  • Resizing the composer can still leave the conversation blank; this release adds diagnostics to help investigate it.
1.1.0

Search workspaces, conversations and commands with Cmd+K

New

  • Press Cmd+K to search workspaces, conversations and commands without leaving your current view.
  • Search shows active work by default, with filters for archived workspaces and hidden projects.
  • Type > in search to browse commands.

Improvements

  • Search results show counts for hidden projects and indicate when matches exist in archived work.
  • Failed actions are grouped with the run they belong to.

Fixes

  • Bloom no longer crashes when a child process has not started or is closing.
  • Messages sent while Claude Code or Codex is running reach the current turn.
  • Question cards retain unfinished answers when the conversation redraws.
  • Running subagents stay visible in the sidebar and open as conversations.
  • Branch prefixes ending in a slash no longer produce invalid branch names.

Known issues

  • The composer-resize fix announced in this release was incomplete; conversations can still go blank, as noted in the following release.
1.0.1

Agent detection when launching from Finder

Improvements

  • Bloom finds agent CLIs installed through common version managers and package managers when launched from Finder.
  • Onboarding and agent sessions use the custom executable paths set in Settings.

Fixes

  • The welcome window no longer crashes while resizing its onboarding content.
1.0.0

Edit files in the diff view

Bloom is now open source.

New

  • Edit changed files directly in the diff view; Bloom prevents saves that would overwrite newer agent changes.
  • Start a fresh Ask Bloom conversation from its menu.

Improvements

  • Conversation links show a pointer cursor on hover.
  • The All files and Changes tabs respond across their full width.
  • Moving the app preserves its connection to external agent clients.

Fixes

  • The welcome window stays closed on subsequent launches after you dismiss it.
  • Dragging a split divider no longer leaves panes unable to display.
  • Cleanup no longer treats unreadable folders as empty and deletes them.
  • Archive scripts receive the port used during setup so they can stop the correct server.
  • Continuing an archived workspace no longer displays the branch notice.
0.28.0

Split resizing and workspace cleanup fixes

Fixes

  • Dragging a split divider no longer leaves panes unable to display.
  • Archive scripts receive the port used during setup so they can stop the correct server.
  • Cleanup no longer treats unreadable folders as empty and deletes them.
0.27.0

Bloom is postcardware, with the address and wall easier to find

New

  • Bloom is postcardware, and the app now says so in Help, the welcome window, and About.
  • You can open the postcard screen from Help, where the address is shown and can be copied as four lines.
  • The postcard wall is now linked from its name.

Improvements

  • The postcard address now sits like a real address on the card, with better spacing at the bottom.
  • The postcard and stamp now animate into place more naturally, and both respect Reduce Motion.
0.26.0

Conversation spacing, queued actions, and a steadier accessory

Improvements

  • White gaps when you scroll back through a conversation are much smaller, because rows that have not been measured yet are now guessed by row type.
  • A queued message now shows one ellipsis instead of three separate action icons.
  • The pull request accessory now finishes its slide even if the window is minimised, moved to a sleeping display, or closed mid-animation.
0.25.0

Clickable controls, terminal restore, and smoother workspace switching

New

  • Terminal panes now remember what was running in them, and offer the command back with a Start button after relaunch.

Improvements

  • The sidebar and inspector toggles now respond to clicks anywhere in their slot, not just on the icon.
  • Model ids that include a backend name are now read correctly instead of being treated as a separate model.

Fixes

  • Switching workspaces no longer leaves huge gaps in conversation layouts.
  • Failed setup now shows “Run setup again” as a button, so it is clear you can click it.
0.24.0

Default Codex models, better font choice, and fewer layout quirks

New

  • Settings now offers the same Claude Code and Codex model sections as the composer, and a Codex default keeps its backend with it.
  • The conversation font picker now lists every installed font on your Mac, while still putting Bloom’s four recommendations first.

Improvements

  • Line height now also affects the spacing between items in bulleted lists, so list formatting follows the rest of the text.
  • The inspector toggle now sits with the same inset as a toolbar item, giving it a bit more space from the window edge.
  • The selected tab can now be dragged to reorder the strip like any other tab.

Fixes

  • File previews no longer show a second composer beside the chat when a tab is split.
  • If a chosen font is no longer installed, it now falls back to the system font instead of becoming unusable.
0.23.1

Agents now see when a browser page failed to load

Improvements

  • Browser tools now report when a page failed to load, so agents no longer mistake the browser pane for being broken.
0.23.0

Pane swaps no longer crash, and copy works again in browser pages

Improvements

  • Finished actions now fold into their group as soon as they settle, so they no longer flash as separate rows first.
  • Browser pages keep the keyboard focus when they should, so Cmd+C works again.

Fixes

  • Swapping a pane while the inspector is sliding no longer aborts the window.
0.22.0

Codex context sizing, the right model label, and better busy states

New

  • Codex chats can now be told how large their context window is, in the composer settings and in Settings, Models. Default, 500K or 1M, and Bloom keeps auto-compaction in step with whichever you pick.

Improvements

  • The model picker now names the top model Fable 5.1.

Fixes

  • A chat now shows as busy when the CLI starts a turn Bloom did not send, so a workspace working through a background task no longer looks finished.
0.21.1

The diff comment button is back, and the pull request notice is gone

Improvements

  • The + button for commenting on diff lines now follows the pointer across a run instead of getting stuck on the first line.

Fixes

  • Bloom no longer shows a warning after a pull request turn simply because no pull request was opened.
0.21.0

Subagents open mid-run, queued turns stay put, and archived workspaces can carry on

New

  • Archived workspaces whose branch no longer exists can now be carried on in a new worktree.
  • A queued message can now be steered into a turn while another one is running.

Improvements

  • Subagent rows now open while the task is still running, and their elapsed counter keeps moving.
  • Setup failures are now shown even when the first turn is starting, instead of leaving the workspace silent.
  • The window now keeps its minimum width matched to the panes it is actually showing.
  • Workspaces can now have up to ten agents in a crew.
  • Ask Bloom now shows when it is working, and the heartbeat runs during its turns.
  • File pills now stay on the same file when you double click them, and their context menu offers Open in New Tab, Reveal in Finder, and Copy path.
  • Permission questions now use a red question mark instead of a raised hand.
  • Screenshots and other images outside the worktree can now be shown in chat.
  • Project and agent counts are now reported as separate numbers instead of being mixed up.
  • Merge conflict instructions, pull request instructions, and merge rules now all appear as the same pill and open on hover.

Fixes

  • Pull requests that were merged and had their branch deleted now show as merged instead of staying open.
  • The plus button for commenting on diff lines is visible again.
  • Queued messages are returned to the composer when you stop a turn instead of being stranded.
  • Bloom no longer adds an extra transcript row for permission prompts it answered itself.
0.20.1

Diffs are easier to read, and damaged databases repair on open

Fixed

  • Text in a diff can be selected across lines again. The code column was drawn one line at a time, so a selection could never leave the line it started on. It is now one text object per run of lines, with the numbers, the markers and the green and red bands beside it, and it draws faster than what it replaces. Reported by Alex.
  • A diff or a file of a few lines starts at the top of the pane instead of floating in the middle of it. Also reported by Alex.
  • Bloom could refuse to open a database that called itself fully migrated while a column was missing, leaving an empty window and a "no such column" message. It now asks the schema rather than the version number for the columns it cannot run without, and puts back anything missing when it opens. Nothing else is touched.
0.20.0

Subagents, shared worktrees, and clearer crew messages

New

  • Agents can now start subagents in the same worktree, so a crew can share one branch and land its work in a single diff and pull request.
  • Subagents appear under the workspace they share, and you can open their conversation and talk to them directly.
  • You can stop a subagent from its row, and Bloom will ask first if it is still working.
  • A third build identity is now available for trying out the crew.

Improvements

  • Messages between agents are now shown as messages from the agent that sent them, instead of looking like your own input.
  • When a subagent finishes, the starting agent is told what it last said, so there is less waiting around.
0.19.8

Model menu ordered by price

Improvements

  • The model menu is now ordered by price, with the most capable models first.
  • Pinned models now stay with their own family instead of being grouped underneath the list.
0.19.7

Skill pills look clearer, and chats now restart on picker changes

Improvements

  • Skill pills now match the size and type of file pills, and the button to open a skill stays visible.

Fixes

  • Changing the model, reasoning effort, permission mode or agent now starts a fresh process for the next message.
  • The ignore whitespace button has been removed from the file editor, where it was not useful.
0.19.6

Skill tabs, better slash commands, and a quieter composer

New

  • Opening a skill now shows its source in a new read-only Bloom tab, including skills installed outside the current worktree.

Improvements

  • Slash command suggestions now appear in a more compact menu with clearer names and more readable descriptions.
  • Skill and file chips now share the same inline layout, so choosing one does not force the next text onto a new line.
  • The composer footer is quieter, with a smaller send button and simpler context usage.
  • The composer controls and command menus now have cleaner spacing and alignment.
0.19.5

Quieter chrome, tighter controls, and browser capture fixes

Improvements

  • Browser, pane, editor and agent settings controls now use more consistent sizing, spacing and alignment.
  • The window title bar has been rebuilt to better match the rest of the app chrome.
  • The composer and quick prompt rows now have cleaner spacing.
  • Compact editor controls and popovers now feel more polished.
  • Conversation and pane layouts have been refined for a cleaner reading area on wide panes.

Fixes

  • Browser capture is now disabled until a real page is loaded.
  • Command-Backspace now edits text in every composer, including New Workspace, instead of triggering a workspace action.
  • Prompt shortcuts and toolbar alignment are now fixed.
  • The active tab now covers the activity indicator cleanly.
  • The browser share icon and pane control are now aligned with the controls around them.
0.19.4

Cleaner chrome, quieter controls, and better transcript context

New

  • Native Codex image results now appear inline with Quick Look, full screen and Save As controls.
  • Agent settings are now grouped into one compact composer control for model, reasoning, output style and permissions.

Improvements

  • Transcript context is presented more clearly.
  • Browser, composer, pane and inspector chrome now use more consistent spacing and quieter native controls.
  • Pull request actions, confirmations, Home filters and workspace setup controls now have more consistent sizing and spacing.
  • Merge safety instructions now appear as a compact pill, while the agent still receives the full instructions.
  • Turn footers now show elapsed time more clearly.
  • Output Style now shows all built-in choices without scrolling.
  • Workspace bridge model selection now validates model names against the selected agent and reports available choices.
  • Pane toolbar and chrome alignment has been tightened up throughout the app.

Fixes

  • Native image view actions no longer show up as raw JSON in the transcript.
  • Active tabs now cover the activity line cleanly.
  • Composer focus, pane borders and toolbar baselines no longer create doubled or misaligned edges.
0.19.3

Agents can use your terminal and workspace media inline

New

  • Agents can open visible terminal tabs, read their output, type commands and send control keys.
  • Agents can show workspace images and videos inline in chat, with Quick Look and Save As controls.
  • You can start a workspace from a GitHub pull request number or URL, and Bloom keeps the pull request, target branch, checks and merge controls.

Improvements

  • Quick prompt editing has cleaner spacing, no unwanted initial tab and keeps unfinished input when Bloom loses focus.
  • Session labels now show the active model and permission mode more consistently, with corrected GPT naming.
  • Consecutive action groups now use more consistent wording.

Fixes

  • Pinned questions now wait until the message has left view before they appear.
  • Showing a generated video no longer crashes Bloom during transcript measurement or after relaunching.
  • Media rows are now safe to measure in long transcripts without losing native playback and preview controls.
0.19.2

Pinned questions, clearer navigation, and transcript recovery

New

  • The current question stays pinned while you read a long response, and you can click it to jump back to the full message.
  • You can start a fresh conversation from the toolbar.
  • Messages that failed to start their agent can now be retried from the chat.

Improvements

  • Consecutive agent actions are grouped more quietly, while the useful prose stays visible.
  • Action counts now use a smaller, lighter badge with more consistent wording.
  • Connection errors and waiting states now use clearer language.
  • Pinned question navigation in the transcript is smoother.

Fixes

  • Returning from the pinned question bar now brings the original message back into view instead of hiding it behind the bar.
  • Transcript navigation and recovery are more reliable.
0.19.1

Steadier scrolling through conversations

Fixes

  • Row height corrections now wait until you stop scrolling, so the transcript no longer shifts under your pointer while you move upward through a conversation.
0.19.0

Cleaner transcript grouping, better model switching, and Codex setup

Improvements

  • Consecutive tool activity now folds into compact groups, while assistant prose stays visible.
  • Group headers are more consistent, keep their count when opened, and no longer shift the reading position as they animate.
  • Live replies now stay at the bottom when you were already there, and opening an activity group no longer causes an unexpected jump.
  • Completed turns are quieter, transcript context is easier to read, and wrapped list items use tighter line spacing.
  • The model picker now switches more reliably between Claude and Codex, including in Ask Bloom, and keeps the active provider and model in sync.
  • Command Line settings now include a user-scoped Codex MCP registration command alongside the existing Claude Code setup.
  • The sidebar toggle now keeps its single intended action.
  • Pending messages now show attached files and images with the same pills used elsewhere in chat.

Fixes

  • Transcript folds now keep their headers consistent and show the latest activity inside the fold.
0.18.0

Faster conversations, lighter panes, and a quieter interface

New

  • Open a local HTML page from the worktree in a Bloom browser tab or pane.

Improvements

  • Long chats now stay lighter while streaming, with fewer redraws and less work when panes resize.
  • Runs of tool calls, rate limit notices, and similar activity now fold into a compact view while the turn is still happening.
  • Resizing a side pane no longer writes out changes on every pointer movement.
  • The interface has been polished across typography, spacing, borders, status marks, forms, settings, sidebar rows, and inspector controls.

Fixes

  • Continuing a merged workspace now resumes from the branch the pull request actually used.
  • Switching workspaces now keeps you at the place you were reading.
  • A new review comment now accepts typing straight away, and it asks before discarding unfinished text.
  • File paths in the inspector now show the full path, trimmed from the side you already know.
  • Current hunk headers now stay visually clear without colouring every hunk header.
  • New worktrees now live in a Spotlight-excluded location, so agent work is less likely to be indexed.
0.17.1

Permission modes explain themselves before you pick them

Improvements

  • Permission modes now show what each option does before you choose it, with each row carrying its own description.
  • Codex no longer offers Plan, since that mode is not available for it.
  • If a workspace is switched from Plan to Codex, it now falls back to Read only instead of keeping a mode Codex cannot use.
0.17.0

Start projects and workspaces in windows, with clearer running states

New

  • Start a workspace and start a project each open in their own window now, so you can drag one aside and read the project behind it while you write.
  • Browser is a third way to start a workspace, alongside Chat and Terminal.
  • The conversation's line height is a setting, with five steps. What it was set at this morning is the default.
  • The first run offers the prompt form, so what Bloom does next can come from you.
  • An agent can rename the workspace it is working in.
  • Project settings hold your own instructions for merging and for resolving conflicts.

Improvements

  • Work in flight is drawn in Bloom's blue. It used to be the same colour as a passing check, so only the shape told them apart.
  • The conversation is led at about 1.7 of its text size, rather than a flat three points that tightened as you asked for larger text.
  • Bloom's own merge rules travel in the message now. A file is attached only when your project has something of its own to add.
  • Workspace names line up under the project's name, with the marks in a column of their own.
  • Codex and Claude Code each label their permission modes in their own vocabulary, with the vendor's own explanations.
  • The create window shows its controls' labels again, at a width measured against all six of them.

Fixes

  • Command-Backspace no longer archives the workspace you are typing in. Reported by Nick Denys.
  • Codex was missing a permission mode entirely: Bloom never sent its third setting, so "Approve for me" could not be chosen. Reported by Nico Verbruggen.
  • Bloom no longer asks macOS for access to Apple Music. Five places started an agent CLI in your home directory, and macOS blames the app that spawned it. Also reported by Nico Verbruggen.
  • Files attached in the New Workspace window reach the agent that gets them.
  • A branch that conflicts has its own mark in the sidebar.
  • Checks say running when a runner has them, and queued when nothing has picked them up.
  • The busy rule lights for the workspace you are looking at, not for any workspace anywhere.
0.16.0

Ask Bloom, a new project door, and a cleaner release workflow

New

  • Ask Bloom now sits above every project, with no worktree of its own, so you can ask about running work, failing checks, or starting a project or workspace.
  • The Projects button now opens one flow for both new projects and existing folders, and Bloom tells you what it will do as you type.
  • Bloom now offers a setup step on first run so you can expose your projects from your own terminal.

Improvements

  • Home now acts as the archive, with sizes, totals, and database size shown in the list itself.
  • Home's search field keeps the keyboard while you type and moves smoothly with the panes.
  • Settings now has fewer tabs, with Projects, About, Storage, and a few other pages folded into the places that make more sense.
  • Codex models are now offered in a more useful order.

Fixes

  • Long transcripts now keep their rows aligned as panes change width, and corrections are no longer lost after a resize or sidebar drag.
  • Rows that draw nothing no longer waste work building SwiftUI views, which makes scrolling lighter.
  • A browser tab now says why a page failed to load, instead of leaving you with a blank state.
  • You can now collapse expanded output again, select across multiple lines inside a code fence, and click a tab's close cross without also selecting it.
  • Diff, Preview, and Edit now show the same gutter treatment for the same file.
0.15.0

Faster workspace switches and a table-based transcript

New

  • The transcript now uses a table, which makes it faster to open, lets it stay still while you drag a pane, and keeps Jump to newest working reliably.
  • You can now edit a queued message before it is sent.
  • The browser bar now has a more native macOS 26 look, with the host shown more clearly.
  • The tab strip is now available to agents, and they can select tabs by position or title.
  • Fable 5 is now available in the model picker, and settings files naming it are handled correctly.

Improvements

  • Opening a workspace is faster because worktree checks now run in parallel.
  • Launch now does less work on the main thread by moving defaults scanning off the launch path.
  • The transcript now keeps the bottom of the scroll view properly anchored when the window changes size or a pane is resized.
  • Bash rows now hide the worktree cd when it would just repeat the workspace path.
  • Details now sit beside their labels instead of being forced into a fixed column.
  • The inspector header now arrives with the pane instead of appearing early.
  • The inspector toggle now matches the sidebar toggle more closely.
  • Folder disclosure in the inspector now animates like Finder's.
  • The activity rule now breathes in step with the running dots instead of using a travelling light.
  • The composer footer now uses one visual style for its menus.

Fixes

  • The sidebar no longer mixes in background shell commands with agents.
  • The pane divider no longer shows the grey grips.
  • Closing the gap between the transcript and a dragged pane no longer remeasures the whole chat.
  • The transcript now reaches the end correctly when you send a message or jump to newest.
0.14.0

Agent work stays in sync, with cleaner project and settings views

New

  • The MCP tool for starting a workspace can now either create a new branch from a chosen base or continue on an existing branch.

Improvements

  • The project settings window now uses the same toolbar style as Bloom’s own Settings window.
  • The New workspace sheet has more room above its title and its controls can show their labels properly again.

Fixes

  • Projects now keep their sidebar artwork clean, without the settings gear drawn over the top.
  • Hidden projects are shown again when a workspace is added to them.
  • Actions that would act on a branch are disabled while an agent is still writing to it, with the reason shown in the interface.
  • Merge conflict resolution now pushes the resolved branch so GitHub can accept it.
  • Turns that end because the agent process stops now show as unfinished instead of staying on Working.
  • Pull requests opened by an agent are now found correctly when Bloom looks them up.
0.13.2

Long chat scrolling is steadier, and agent PRs are found correctly

Improvements

  • Switching between long conversations now puts you back on the row you were reading, even if the view has measured the transcript differently since last time.
  • Conversations now reopen at the newest message when you were already at the live end.

Fixes

  • You can reach the end of long conversations again, and the view no longer stops short before the latest message.
  • Bloom now looks up pull requests using the branch the worktree is actually on, so agent-created PRs are found correctly.
0.13.1

Returning to long conversations now keeps your place

Improvements

  • Switching between long conversations now puts you back on the row you were reading, even if the view has measured the transcript differently since last time.
0.13.0

Long chats scroll and resize more smoothly, with better live updates

Improvements

  • Long conversations now keep a smaller window of messages in view and expand it as you scroll, which makes scrolling and resizing much faster.
  • Live turn updates now redraw in coalesced batches, so streaming feels lighter and depends less on how chatty the backend is.
  • Bloom now checks for changed worktrees with a file system watcher, which means idle refreshes stop polling git when nothing has changed.
  • Returning to a conversation now brings you back closer to where you left off, even after the window size or text settings change.
  • Resizing a window over a long chat is smoother than before, though it still has room to improve.

Fixes

  • Bloom no longer lets a background task that never started a turn end the active turn by mistake.
0.12.0

The keyboard, browser panes, and window probes all work better

New

  • The browser pane now handles links that open a new window, page prompts, file pickers, downloads, and page search.
  • Command F now finds within a terminal or editor when one has focus, and still opens workspace search elsewhere.
  • Command W now closes the item in front, rather than always closing a chat.
  • Three lists, changed files, the worktree tree, and search results now have keyboard selection and list navigation.

Improvements

  • The Workspace menu now acts on the row you are actually looking at, not just the sidebar selection.
  • In-place renaming now commits when you click away.
  • Bloom now uses one accent colour across its own controls and the system UI.
  • The welcome screen branches now run at a smoother frame rate.
  • The terminal was updated to a newer SwiftTerm release, which improves font changes and page scrolling.
  • Some chat setup work now happens off the main thread, and resizing a window with chat, a browser, and changed files open is smoother.
0.11.7

Lower background load, better browser access, and a fixed running mark

New

  • Agents can now see the browser panes open in a workspace, including their titles, addresses, load state, and page content as text or a picture.

Improvements

  • Bloom now checks changed files less often for workspaces that are not active, which cuts background work without slowing the workspace you are looking at.

Fixes

  • Workspaces with an agent running now stay marked as running in the sidebar more reliably.
  • File pills in your own sent messages now show the same hover preview as file pills in the agent’s messages.
0.11.6

A proper browser toolbar, split link opens, and a cleaner create sheet

New

  • The browser pane now has a Mac-style toolbar with working back, forward, and Share controls.
  • Right clicking a transcript link now offers Open in Split Right and Open in Split Down.

Improvements

  • The browser toolbar now follows the page as it changes, including on sites that update without a full reload.
  • Back and forward now behave more like a browser, including showing when they have nowhere to go.
  • The quick prompt icon picker now uses the same tab strip as the create sheet and picks up its shared hover behaviour.

Fixes

  • Creating a workspace now always closes the create sheet, so the Create more toggle is gone.
0.11.5

Quick prompt tools, better icon picking, and Bloom-coloured tabs

New

  • You can now list, create, update, and delete quick prompts from an agent, with creation and listing available to your workspace agent or your own client.
  • The create sheet and quick prompt picker now use Bloom’s own tab controls instead of the system ones.

Improvements

  • The quick prompt icon picker now opens on the tab that already contains the saved mark, scrolls to it, and gives the form more room.
  • The quick prompt picker now shows the saved mark as selected and keeps the keyboard focus state separate.
  • Deleting a quick prompt now asks for confirmation first, from both the form and the row menu.
  • The source picker tabs now fill the available width evenly and use Bloom’s colours.

Fixes

  • The quick prompt picker no longer opens blank the first time, and the grid now scrolls correctly to items that have not been drawn yet.
0.11.4

Branch availability checks, workspace hover cards, and a cleaner quick prompt picker

New

  • Quick prompt icons now open in a small picker with separate Icons and Emojis tabs, search, and keyboard navigation.
  • Hovering a workspace row now shows a card with the full name, branch, diff stat, pull request number, current state, recent activity, and check details.

Improvements

  • Bloom now checks git to see whether a branch is already taken, so branches and pull requests are marked busy even when another tool or manual worktree is using them.
  • If a branch is already checked out, Bloom now says what is holding it and can offer to create a new branch from the same head instead.
  • Quick prompt icons now sit in a square well beside the name instead of taking up a full grid.
0.11.3

Quick prompts are easier to read and sit more cleanly in the panel

Improvements

  • The quick prompts panel now uses ordinary text colours on highlighted rows, so the labels stay readable.
  • The rows in the quick prompts panel now sit one step lower and the panel fits its contents more cleanly.

Fixes

  • The selected fill now matches the intended row styling more closely, so the highlight looks consistent as you move through the list.
0.11.2

The quick prompts panel now looks and behaves like a proper menu

Improvements

  • The quick prompts panel now opens with a proper menu-style layout, with the selection inset from the rounded corners, wider rows, and better alignment between the search field, prompts, and the new quick prompt row.
  • Hovered rows keep space for the pencil icon, so long prompt names no longer reflow as you move the pointer or selection.

Fixes

  • A prompt without a name no longer shows its first line twice.
  • Two-line prompt rows now have their text and icon laid out correctly.
0.11.1

Quick prompts button and form layout tweaks

Improvements

  • The quick prompts panel now opens from its button instead of hanging off the middle of the composer.
  • The quick prompts button now shows its label in wider panes, the keyboard hint strip has been removed, and the form has more space around its fields.
  • The Delete action in the quick prompts form is now shown as a destructive button.
0.11.0

Quick prompts, clearer workspace start, and a transcript scroll fix

New

  • A new quick prompts button in the composer lets you keep short prompts you use again, search them, edit them, and insert them without sending straight away.
  • The Start from picker is now split into separate tabs for creating a new branch or continuing on an existing one, with the difference explained more clearly.
  • Pull requests now appear under the branch they land on, rather than only under their number and title.

Improvements

  • Scrolling a long transcript no longer re-decodes rows it has already read.
  • Starting a workspace now explains where your commits will go and what merging will do.
  • You can move between the two Start from tabs with Command-Shift-[ and Command-Shift-].

Fixes

  • A project with commits but no local branches no longer crashes when an agent tries to start a workspace.
  • Very fast git or shell commands no longer leave their task waiting hung for the rest of the session.
  • Archiving a workspace whose worktree is missing from disk no longer deletes its branch without confirmation.
  • Stopping a Codex chat no longer leaves permission questions hanging, and the next launch no longer treats them as if Bloom had not been running.
  • A GitHub pull request that had never been closed no longer comes back marked closed in the year one.
  • The four pane tools are no longer offered to clients connected from outside a workspace.
0.10.0

Mostly repairs, with safer agents and steadier transcripts

Improvements

  • The app now chooses the right shell for terminals more reliably when your saved shell is missing, so login shells use the setup you expect.
  • Starting a workspace now recognises when a branch is already open in another workspace and takes you to that workspace instead of mislabelling it.
  • Stop is now handled more safely when a run is ending, so the next message is less likely to land in a process that is still shutting down.
  • Codex requests now have a timeout, so an accepted request cannot sit around forever waiting for a reply.
  • The core and the larger view folders are now split by subject, which should make the app easier to navigate for people working in the codebase.

Fixes

  • The transcript keeps following a running turn even if that turn starts before the view has finished laying out.
  • Thinking text no longer shows a truncated ellipsis when the text has not actually been shortened.
  • Pull request status marks no longer disappear from the sidebar, Home rail and title bar when GitHub is slow or rate-limited.
  • A few crash paths have been removed, including one where a store was force-unwrapped and two places that relied on undocumented main-thread callbacks.
0.9.0

Searchable workspace start, merge conflict fixes, and smoother transcript updates

New

  • The "Start from" control is now a searchable panel, so you can filter branches, pull requests, numbers and authors in one place.
  • The panel now shows open and "new branch from" choices separately, and it includes closed pull requests and pull requests from forks.
  • Pull requests that conflict with their base now offer a fix-conflicts action instead of a merge button that could not work.

Improvements

  • Coming back to a chat tab now keeps the current session in place instead of reopening it.
  • The transcript now settles rows onto the screen instead of popping them in, and it follows the live end without jumping.
  • Busy dots now use the same pulsing indicator everywhere, including when Bloom is in the background.
  • Syntax highlighting is faster, with each line lexed once and the output unchanged.
  • Window resizing and returning to a chat tab are both noticeably lighter on the main thread.

Fixes

  • Switching away from a chat tab and back no longer leaves the transcript blank.
  • A workspace already open in another window now stays selectable and takes you to that workspace instead of failing to create a duplicate.
  • The transcript no longer re-renders visible content on every pass when nothing has changed.
0.8.0

File pills in chat, clearer merge and archive states

New

  • File paths in sent turns now render as file pills, instead of plain backticked text.

Improvements

  • Running checks now use the same solid style as passing checks, so they are easier to spot in lists.
  • The merge button is now green when a pull request can be merged.
  • Pressing Merge now keeps the chat scrolled to the latest turn.
  • File mentions in sent messages are recognised with a tested rule, so paths are styled consistently without catching things like commands or dotted method names.

Fixes

  • Archiving a workspace now distinguishes ignored files, uncommitted changes, and work that is already on the default branch, instead of warning about everything as if it would be lost.
  • Archive and restore failures now explain what stopped them, rather than showing raw git commands or other low-level errors.
  • The app now treats the owner as present at the machine when an agent tries to take over the session, instead of acting as if it can interrupt without asking.
0.7.0

Bloom comes as a disk image

Downloading Bloom used to hand you a zip and leave you to work out where the app was supposed to go. It is a disk image now, opening onto the app and the Applications folder side by side, signed and notarised with the ticket stapled to the image itself rather than only to the app inside.

Resizing a window with a chat open was slow, and measuring it rather than guessing found the cost in counting lines: 134 milliseconds a step down to 57.

0.6.0

The mark on a working row breathes

Improvements

  • The mark beside a working workspace breathes instead of pulsing. It is two rings now, one inside the other, and what moves is the gap between them: the inner grows while the outer closes in until they nearly meet, then they part again. It is slower than the three dots it replaces, and it runs on the same three second beat as the light that crosses the rule under the title bar, so several working rows and the rule are one rhythm rather than three.
0.5.0

Bloom over MCP, merging through the agent, and projects you can hide

New

  • Claude Code running anywhere on the machine can drive Bloom over MCP. Settings has the connect command to paste, every copy of Bloom registers under a name of its own, and workspace_list lets a client ask what is already open rather than only make more.
  • Merging is handed to the agent in the chat rather than run through gh pr merge. The agent has been on that branch all along, so a conflict, a failing check or a protection rule is something it can work through in the transcript instead of a red box you then have to explain to it.
  • A project can be hidden. It comes off the sidebar and out of the pickers, stays exactly where it is on disk, and comes back whole when you unhide it.
  • A review comment can be edited where you read it. Inline comments used to be write once. Shift and Return puts a new line inside one rather than sending it.
  • A queued message can be thrown away. It asks first, and it gives you the words back in the composer rather than losing them.
  • The Changes tab can measure from something other than the base branch: what is uncommitted, or everything since a commit you pick.

Improvements

  • The Checks tab appears only once GitHub has reported a run, so a branch with no CI on it no longer carries a tab that never fills.
  • The menu bar asks both CLIs what is left of your allowance instead of waiting for one to mention it, so the numbers are right the moment you look.
  • A new session starts on full access. Accept edits stopped a fresh chat to ask before its first command, and Bloom exists to run several of those at once.
  • Escape and Cmd+W close the windows that are not a workspace, so Welcome, Search and Archive behave like every other window on the Mac.
  • Commands are set in monospace with a button to copy them, so what an agent is about to run reads as a command and can be taken to a terminal without selecting it by hand.

Fixes

  • The transcript settles rather than snapping. A row arriving no longer jumps the view, and scrolling back to the newest message travels there instead of teleporting.
0.4.0

Allowance details in the menu bar, plus archive and composer fixes

New

  • The menu bar now shows each agent’s allowance, including which window is nearest expiry, how much has been used, and when it lifts.
  • The welcome window now draws branches on the water instead of expanding rings.

Fixes

  • Deleting several archived workspaces from a row menu now deletes the whole selection, not just the clicked row.
  • Slash commands now complete wherever you start a command word in the prompt, not only at the start of the line.
0.3.0

Welcome window, archives, and cleaner workspace handling

New

  • Bloom now greets you with a welcome window that checks what the app needs, explains any missing pieces, and reopens from Help when you need it.
  • Archived workspaces now have their own screen in the sidebar, ordered by size or age and showing what each one still contains.
  • Each workspace now has a notes pane for scratch text that survives quitting, relaunching, and archiving.
  • The chart now opens larger, can be zoomed, and uses a paper texture instead of a flat gradient.

Improvements

  • Workspace setup scripts now get a project name and a saved port, so separate projects and restarts no longer collide on the same database or drift from the port the script wrote.
  • Archive scripts now receive the same port and have longer to shut services down cleanly.
  • Recent workspace actions now have proper menu items, including the notes pane and other commands that used to be hidden behind hover controls.
  • Find Workspace is now called Search, to match that it searches transcripts as well as workspace names.

Fixes

  • The notes pane now takes the caret when you open it.
  • Search snippets no longer read back bookkeeping fields from a turn.
  • Cmd+Q now asks to quit on the window you are looking at.
  • Shift+Cmd+W now closes a window, and File > Close shows the right shortcut.
  • Split Right and Split Down are now greyed out on tabs that cannot be split.
  • The welcome window shrinks again after sign-in instead of staying too tall.
  • A workspace start failure now tells you what went wrong in terms you can act on.
  • The bridge now reports an ordinary shutdown correctly when Bloom quits while it is waiting for a reply.
  • Workspace session files and bridge tokens are cleaned up when a session ends.
  • Dev and test copies of Bloom no longer inherit the shipping app’s saved defaults.
0.2.0

Review and search get better, with notes, PRs, and attachments

New

  • Comment on diff lines and send a whole review in one turn, with the composer now available on the review screen.
  • Open a workspace on a pull request or an existing branch, including pull requests from forks.
  • Search the full text of agent transcripts, including archived workspaces, and jump straight to the matching message.
  • Add a notes tab to each workspace for scratch text that survives switching away, quitting, relaunching, and archiving.
  • Send a failed check to the agent, or attach what you are looking at in the browser pane.
  • Run other workspaces from an agent, up to eight at a time.
  • Workspaces are now named after seas, with a branch cut from the sea slug, and the Discovered Seas window shows the chart.

Improvements

  • Review comments keep the file, line, side, and surrounding code, and they follow moved lines when a file changes.
  • The Discovered Seas window opens larger, can be zoomed, and shows the world as a chart.
  • The About window now includes more about Spatie and shows moving water.
  • Search results are grouped by workspace and ordered by the best matches.
  • The sidebar gives workspace names more room and no longer reserves space for hidden hover controls.
  • Slash commands and file mentions update as you type, so the highlighted row matches what is selected.

Fixes

  • Half-written review comments are no longer committed when you leave a file.
  • The diff gutter plus now responds across the whole row instead of a narrow strip.
  • Sibling workspaces now get separate port blocks.
  • Codex now reports when a transcript row could not be stored.
  • Permission asks now offer Always allow when the CLI suggests a matching companion rule.
  • Git no longer starts work for calls that were already cancelled.
  • The browser address rules, mention ranking, and create-sheet branch loading now live in the core where they are tested.
0.1.0

Bloom’s first public build, with worktrees, agents, and review tools

New

  • Bloom is now publicly available as a native Mac app for running coding agents in parallel, each in its own git worktree.
  • You can choose Claude Code or Codex per workspace, with a real terminal and browser pane in each one.
  • The app includes review tools for changed files, diffs, pull request checks, and line notes.
  • Permission questions now appear in context rather than as separate alerts.

Improvements

  • The app now checks for updates in the background and avoids doing so while an agent is mid-turn.
